Guisley  RFM Blue Line  Walking with Loki and Theo 31/03/26 This is the second in a series of walks near the airport and we were joined by Loki. The weather was ok no rain, no real wind and warm. Not bad compared to recent walks. We parked at Yeadon Tarn and headed through the unremarkable streets towards Yeadon Banks. The low cloud and sun on the hills in the distance is a special kind of view with Guisley in the distance. We headed down towards Shaw Lane but then veered off towards West Carlton. I love the way the West Yorkshire towns and villages dominate the landscape. I don't know any other part of the UK where this kind of view is possible. Its urban but I like it. This panoramic view though distorted gives a really cool image of what I mean. I think the boys house is visible in this long distance shot near the bottom of the frame. The blocks of flats are a surprise. We headed through the coutryside towards West Carlton over familar terrain for Theo. Was it Champi...

Wharnecliffe Chase  RFM Blue Line  Walking with the kids. 30/03/26 It was an odd kind of day and an odd kind of walk in the Easter school holidays. The day was cold, dry, wet, windy, calm etc etc you get the idea. The walk was a ramble over the top of the Chase. This connected 5 previously walked blue lines and unusually for the area didn't really have a hill to climb. There were just up slopes and down slopes. We were in good spirits as we set off in this well walked area. We immediately came across Strudel, a very friendly young but fully grown Bernese Mountain dog and his lady owner. He was beautiful and the fur so thick and soft and so gentle. I wished we could have kept him. We had a good chat with the lady and reluctantly continued on our way. The woods were full of birdsong some we recognised and some we did not. The view of the pond and the Chase from the first high stile was basically the area we were to walk around. The rainbow kept coming in and out of focus....
