Meltham Moor RFM Blue Line Walking with Max

  Meltham Moor  RFM Blue Line  Walking with Max 30/05/26 This was a tough walk on a very hot day. Due to a detour it was even longer than expected. Parking at the top of Town Gate we set off up the hill towards Royd Edge Clough. The first sight were these Alpacas browsing in the warm sunshine. The friendly signs on the gate invited us to watch the animals but not to feed them. What a nice start to a walk. I was aware this would be a long walk but was happy it would be no worries for Max. Royd Edge Clough was verdant with lush vegetation all the way up the uniform steep slope. It was very good to follow the contour along this greeen path.  We crossed the stream and headed over the farmland on a very well marked path. I only show the kids the route they have always had to find their own way across obstacles and now they often find better ways than me. Max made short work of this stream.
